Would you like to change things for the better?
Do you find yourself wanting change, but you’re not sure how to go about it? Or are you in a difficult situation and you’d like to find ways to cope? Using a Solution Focused Brief Therapy approach, I’m here to help get you, or you and your family, heading in the direction you’d like to go, so you can move on, see a future of possibilities and feel more confident in yourself.
Hello! My name is Sophie. I’m a British Clinical Psychologist offering English-speaking therapy for children, young people and adults. I’m registered in the UK with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and recognised as a psychologist in France (ADELI 759341902). I worked for the NHS as a Clinical Psychologist in London for over 8 years, with children and adults experiencing mental and physical health difficulties using a range of therapies, from CBT and ACT, to Narrative and Systemic approaches.
I continue to work with all ages, experiencing many types of challenge or difficulty. For example:
Children and young people (5-17)
Perinatal mental health (pre- and post-partum)
Parental mental health/parenting challenges
Adults (18+) experiencing anxiety, low mood or low self-esteem
About me
I offer in person sessions for English-speakers in Paris, France (17th arrondissement) and online sessions (therapy, counselling, coaching) for English-speakers based in France, the rest of Europe and the UK using a Solution Focused approach. It’s evidence-based (like for example its “cousin” CBT, or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy); many studies have shown Solution Focused Brief Therapy to be effective, across different cultures and continents.
It’s the kind of talking designed to get the ball rolling for you. Our conversations are there to help you see a way forward, no matter how bad or stuck you feel, how unclear your goals and hopes, or how challenging your life is at the moment. We’ll discover the changes you want to experience in the future, and what could help make them happen. This transformational approach is very practical and future-oriented.
I aim to help improve family mental health and wellbeing.
All my work is mental-health friendly and provides a non-judgmental, supportive environment.
I whole-heartedly welcome the opportunity to support people within the LGBTQIA+ community.

Testimonials
I’m delighted to have worked with teale, the mental health app for companies, providing videos for their great library of resources.
Here is the introduction to my series on Resilience; I have also done series on Maternity leave, Parenting and Burnout. Users of the app can also access other topics presented by other psychologists.
Would Solution Focused Brief Therapy sessions be useful for you, or your family?
The Solution Focused approach is a different kind of conversation, for anyone hoping to see a positive change in their lives, through talking about where they’d like to get to rather than where they have been or where they are now. It’s likely to be a good fit for you if you are interested in conversations which nourish your hope, about how things could go right for you, rather than why they’ve gone wrong or what’s going wrong right now. You don’t have to know beforehand where you want to get to, though! That is part of the process of the session. With both children and adults, my questions tap into your creativity and imagination, and allow you to take the best parts of you into the future.
This approach is designed to be short-term but long-lasting; many people find that 5-8 sessions, spread out over a number of weeks and months, are enough for them to have noticed real and significant changes in their life.
I work therapeutically with a range of mental health difficulties and provide coaching for life challenges.
For example:
Anxiety
Stress
Depression or low mood
Trying for a baby, IVF and other treatments
Miscarriage, stillbirth and loss
Transition to parenthood
Postnatal Depression and Anxiety
Eco-anxiety / climate anxiety (especially in the context of parenthood)
Relationship difficulties
Managing Challenging Behaviour
Acute and Chronic Physical Illness
Our sessions will have a guided focus on how things could be in the future (even if you’re not sure right now!), instead of spending most of our time on what’s going wrong or why. As a psychologist, I believe that each person is the expert in what works for them; I put that into practice by helping my clients find their own solutions, tailored to their life.
